For more than two decades, I've helped students navigate one of the most personal, and often overwhelming, parts of the college admissions process.

I don't believe in writing essays for students.

I believe in helping them discover stories they didn't even realize were worth telling.

Because the best college essays don't simply describe accomplishments.

They reveal character.

My background is more than ten years inside college admissions: regional and international recruiter for the University of Alabama, college advisor and recruiter at LIU Post, and Vice President and Director of Admissions at Sierra Nevada University.

I started with a Bachelor's in Drama from Catholic University, then a Master's in Education from LIU Post, and most recently a Certificate in Public Leadership from Harvard.

So when I read a student's essay, I am reading it the way the person on the other side of the desk will read it.

My love of acting never stopped either. I play the recurring Judge Marvin Nichols on Law and Order, seasons 21, 22, and 23.

Together, our complementary backgrounds in admissions, writing, and education provide students with thoughtful guidance, personalized feedback, and a collaborative workshop experience.

Does my student need to have an essay topic before the workshop?
Not at all. Most students begin without a clear topic, and helping them discover one is one of the workshop's primary goals.
Will students finish their essay?
Students will leave with a strong first draft and a clear revision plan. Many complete their essay during the workshop, while others continue refining it using the personalized feedback they receive.
How many students are in each workshop?
Enrollment is intentionally limited to ensure every student receives individualized attention and meaningful feedback.
Is this appropriate for students applying to highly selective colleges?
Absolutely. Authentic storytelling is valued by colleges at every level of selectivity. Rather than teaching students how to sound impressive, we help them communicate who they are in a genuine and memorable way.
What is the refund policy?
Full refund if you cancel more than 7 days before the first session. Within 7 days, we will credit you toward a future workshop or a one-on-one session.
Is there parking?
Yes, Huntington Village has municipal lots a short walk from Green Street. Give yourself a few extra minutes the first morning.
